The UK Social Mobility Awards have announced an additional organisational category for the 2025 SOMOs, recognising technology’s role in advancing social mobility.
The ‘Tech for Social Mobility’ award sits among 10 other organisational categories, and three individual categories, ahead of entries opening on Monday 28th April 2025.
The award recognises organisations that have harnessed technology to break down barriers and create pathways to opportunity for people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The successful entries will demonstrate how digital innovation has been specifically deployed to address social mobility challenges in the UK.
The winner will exemplify how technology, when purposefully applied, can be a powerful equaliser, creating more inclusive pathways to prosperity regardless of socio-economic background, geography, or other disadvantaging factors.
The entry portal for this year’s awards will open on Monday 28th April, and close on Friday 27th June at 5pm, ahead of shortlisting announcement on Tuesday 15th July. This year’s SOMOs Awards Gala is on Thursday 2nd October.
