National Grid has been announced as the Headline Partner for the UK Social Mobility Awards for 2024.
The UK Social Mobility Awards (SOMOs) were established to recognise and celebrate forward-thinking organisations that are actively creating positive social change for their employees and in their communities, by embedding social mobility initiatives into their core business strategy.
Since their launch in 2017, the SOMOs have become an important platform for promoting social mobility in the UK and have attracted entries from leading organisations across the country and spanning multiple sectors.
The awards provide valuable recognition for organisations like National Grid, who are leading the way in social mobility.
Tunde Banjoko OBE, Founder of the UK Social Mobility Awards said, “We are delighted to welcome National Grid as our lead partners for 2024,”
“Our vision is for every employer and educator in the UK to have a social mobility plan and to guide meaningful action to achieve socio-economic diversity, equity and inclusion, so we are thrilled to showcase National Grid in support of the SOMOs.”
Will Serle, Chief People and Culture Office at National Grid said, “We are committed to delivering a positive impact to socio-economically disadvantaged young people and are excited to be partnering with the SOMOs to showcase the work being done by other like-minded organisations across the UK,”
“Now more than ever we need to show support for our communities and coordinate action to help give young people hope of meaningful employment.”
The UK Social Mobility Awards will be held in October 2024.
